Student Employment
Wesley DC periodically offers on-campus employment opportunities for currently enrolled students. Student positions are posted below when available. All student workers report to the HR Director and must be enrolled for the duration of their employment.
Floater Student Worker
Position Summary
The Floater Student Worker provides administrative and operational support to various departments across Wesley Theological Seminary as needed. This position is designed to offer flexible assistance during busy periods, staff absences, special projects, and institutional events.
Floater Student Workers must be adaptable, dependable, and able to work with multiple offices across the seminary. Assignments may vary week to week depending on departmental needs.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Administrative Support
- Assisting offices with general administrative tasks such as filing, copying, scanning, and data entry
- Supporting email correspondence and document preparation
- Organizing files and maintaining office records
Event and Program Support
- Assisting with the setup and breakdown of campus events, meetings, and gatherings
- Providing support during institutional events, workshops, and programs
Operational Assistance
- Running campus errands or delivering materials between departments
- Assisting with light office organization and preparation of materials
- Supporting special projects assigned by various departments
Customer Service
- Providing a welcoming presence for students, faculty, staff, and visitors
- Assisting offices with front desk coverage when needed
Qualifications
- Must be a currently enrolled student at Wesley Theological Seminary
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Professional and courteous demeanor
- Willingness to assist multiple departments and adapt to varying tasks
Supervision
Floater Student Workers report to the Director of Human Resources and may receive assignments from designated supervisors across campus.
Work Schedule
- Up to 12 hours per week in accordance with student employment guidelines
- Work schedules will vary based on the operational needs of the seminary and departmental requests, while remaining mindful of students’ academic commitments

The United Church of Christ’s Media Justice Ministry (uccmediajustice.org) is launching a fellowship program with initial support from the Potomac Association of the UCC (The Potomac Association includes churches in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia). The fellowship is open to seminary students, faith-based activists and content creators. The goal is to build expertise around media justice issues and content creation skills.
Fellows will commit to approximately five hours of work per month for six months, at a stipend of $250 per month (between July and December 2026.) Fellows must live in or serve the Potomac Association of the UCC.
The candidate who is selected will develop a mutually agreeable schedule of content creation and activities with UCC Media Justice, focusing on content and activities that will serve their own ministry goals, local issues in the Potomac Association and media justice and communications rights more broadly.
Application deadline: May 15, 2026.
Applicants will be evaluated in late May/early June. Fellowship will start by mid-July.
