Fall 2026 - Online Health Minister Certificate

Dates: Online Orientation Sept. 2nd, 2026

Learning modules Aug. 30th, 2026 – Dec. 5th, 2026

Certificate Format:

Certificate is composed of 5 courses:
  • Exploring the Foundations and Principles of Faith, Health, and Wellness
  • Exploring Contemporary Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Well Being Practices for Yourself, Congregation, & Community
  • Communicating and Organizing for Health Ministry in Your Congregation
  • Connecting People and Congregations to Health Resources & Understanding and Navigating Healthcare Structures and Systems
  • Accountability, Professional Responsibility, and Legal Considerations for Health Ministry

  • All 5 courses must be completed successful for Certificate completion.
  • Certificate content includes readings, videos, discussion boards, quizzes, and assignments.
  • Interactive optional Zooms are held with each course to enhance learning and engagement with the Certificate content and other students.
  • Learning format is Online & mostly self-paced
  • 30 contact hours
  • Online certificate hours are not transferable to any Wesley Theological Seminary graduate degree.

Tuition Cost:

  • $575 per person
  • $25 non-refundable registration fee (must be submitted with registration form)

(A variety of scholarships are available, including one for United Methodists made possible from a grant from the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church)

CONTACT INFORMATION AND PERSONAL HEALTH MINISTRY STATEMENT RELEASE - The General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church (GBGM) is an educational partner of Wesley Theological Seminary. With GBGM's scholarship support for the certificate, GBGM is working to promote a culture of health in congregations and communities. GBGM would like to raise awareness about health ministry and share stories about health ministry in various media outlets. As part of these efforts, GBGM would like permission to contact you and possibly share your story. If you accept a certificate scholarship from General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church, Wesley will share with GBGM your contact information (name, e-mail, church, and phone) and health ministry personal statement. Cancellation Policy for Certificate*
Cancellations must be received in writing to tpruski@wesleyseminary.edu by August 30, 2026 to receive a full tuition refund. Students cancelling on August 30, 2026 on the first day of class will also be charged a $100.00 cancellation fee. Refunds will not be honored once the first module begins. Note: Certificate credits are not transferable to any Wesley Theological Seminary graduate degree programs.
