Residence Life

Housing Rates

Housing rates are determined by three factors:

1) The current fiscal year
2) Your housing assignment
3) The term* of your residence hall.

The fiscal year runs from July 1 until June 30 of the following year, so students can expect new rates beginning on July 1, which is the term start date for all buildings for Summer II. Terms vary depending on your residence hall, so please read the detailed chart below to be sure about the term dates for your building. For students’ financial planning, rates are listed for both the previous fiscal year and the upcoming fiscal year (as they become available).

*Please note that these are billing terms, not move-in dates.

Welcome to Wesley DC’s Office of Residence Life!

We believe that living on campus offers a unique opportunity to build community, fostering fellowship and the practical application of theology as you journey through your seminary education. Our goal is to provide a safe, welcoming, and comfortable home where you can grow academically, spiritually, and personally. Through various fellowship opportunities, we hope you will connect deeply with others and experience the love of God throughout your time at Wesley DC.

Permanent Residency Housing

  1. On-campus housing for Wesley DC or other graduate students that is considered by the student and by Wesley to be the student’s primary residence.
  2. Student housing that requires a minimum one semester commitment.
  3. May be assigned in the Carroll Residence Hall, or the New Residence Hall for Wesley DC students, or Straughn Dormitory for local graduate students.

Short-Term Housing at Wesley DC

Wesley DC offers convenient and affordable short-term housing options designed to support students enrolled in intensive or low-residency programs.

Whether you’re a Doctor of Ministry or Course of Study student, or a commuter with a nearby permanent address who needs occasional housing during Fall and Spring semesters, J-Term, or Summer terms, we provide accommodations to make your time on campus comfortable and accessible.

These options are priced competitively to support your focus on intensive study while you’re here.

Housing Rates at Wesley DC

Housing rates are based on three key factors:

  • The current fiscal year
  • Your specific housing assignment
  • The billing term for your residence hall

Wesley DC’s fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30, with new housing rates taking effect each July 1. This date also marks the start of the Summer II billing term for all residence halls.

Because each residence hall operates on a different billing schedule, we encourage you to carefully review the chart below for specific term dates related to your assigned building.

For financial planning purposes, housing rates are listed for both the current and upcoming fiscal years as they become available.

Note: Billing terms reflect the financial calendar, not your actual move-in date.

Family Housing at Wesley DC

Wesley DC is proud to welcome married couples and families with children into our campus community. We recognize the diverse backgrounds and needs of our students and offer housing options designed to support family life while pursuing theological education.

Carroll Hall: Family-Friendly Living

Carroll Hall features efficiency, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments to accommodate a variety of family sizes. Current residents include:

  • Newly married couples
  • Couples or single parents with up to three children
  • Single students may be considered for Carroll Hall if units are available

While some families in Carroll Hall participate in the student pastor program and maintain a second residence, many consider their Wesley DC apartment their primary home during their time at the seminary.

Our goal is to provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive living environment where your family can thrive in community while you engage in your academic and spiritual journey.

Associated Housing Fees for Family Housing

For a listing of all rental rates, please consult the Housing Rates page. Apartment rent is due on the 15th of the month in the Business Office. Rental rates for the term (Fall, Spring, Summer I and II) are assessed to student accounts at the beginning of the semester, and students’ monthly payments pay down the balance. Fall and Spring semesters are billed at 4.5 months each and Summer I and II terms are billed at 1.5 months each.
